About Nava Kriti
Nava Kriti Center for Odissi Dance, based in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul), Minnesota is dedicated to preserving and promoting the timeless beauty of Odissi. Previously known as Twin Cities Odissi, established in 2017, we provide a space where students across all ages can explore movement, emotion, and storytelling, while building a deep connection to culture and creativity.
Our Approach
At Nava Kriti, our approach to teaching dance is rooted in respect for tradition and a passion for creative growth. We focus on building strong foundations in Odissi technique—grace, rhythm, expression, and posture—while nurturing each dancer’s individuality. Our classes emphasize discipline and joy in equal measure, helping students develop not just as performers, but as confident, mindful artists.
Workshops and Masterclasses
At Nava Kriti, workshops and masterclasses are opportunities to learn, unlearn, and evolve. Guided by renowned gurus and guest artists, students experience fresh perspectives that enrich their dance journey.
Community and Collaborations
We partner with local cultural groups, schools, and arts presenters; we participate in community festivals—creating more chances for people to encounter Odissi up close.
